Heavy cast base of this lamp houses the transformer and provides a sturdy ridgid base on your work bench.

I use this light and magnifier every day for custom gunsmithing work, anytime I have fine work like finding an edge with an endmill bit or drilling a blind hole for a blind pinned flashider MAG-122 makes it a breeze. During our latest AR-15 armorer course at Rifle Dynamics all the students kept clustering back to this light and magnifier combo. If you are a Gunsmith or Armorer this tool will make your job easier.
